Carmine
Heavily influenced by the rise of LGBTQ+ Women in mainstream media, Carmine is a painting with strong political undertones. Though all art is arguably political, this painting confronts the obtuse representation of women in art and criticizes gender norms and roles presented in works such as ‘The Kiss’ by Gustav Klimt. Once more rich pinks make an appearance in my work, heavily saturating the painting and providing a romanticised glow. This work is extremely popular, with prints sold worldwide and available in a wide range of colours available upon request.
